Large Clone Phenotype Keyword(s): cell lethal

Phenotype Description: Large clone analysis shows the no-white phenotype (red and darker red in color). The light microscope pictures show medium sized shiny areas as well as a noticeable reduction in the size of the eye for some flies. SEM photo shows fusion of ommatidia, partial loss of ommatidia structure, and unusual bristle pattern (randomness in smaller ommatidia areas and none in fused ommatidia area). Orange/white mosaic eyes are observed in the small clone analysis. The homozygous mutant twin spot clones are evident (darker and lighter orange) but difficult to visualize, yet the SEM picture shows the orange tissues to be slightly rough.
